ASSOCIATION OF ROMANIAN JEWS
VICTIMS OF THE HOLOCAUST

Liviu Beris

Liviu Beris was 13 when he and his family were evacuated from their home in Northern Bucovina, and deported to the concentration camp of Moghilev in Transnistria. Many of those who accompanied him on this journey never returned.
 :

During the dark years of communism that followed the war, the memory of the Romanian Holocaust was largely obliterated. Thus, an important and tragic part of the national history was all but effaced.
 :
At present, Liviu Beris is the president of the Association of Romanian Jews Victims of the Holocaust (ARJVH). In the name of all victims of the Romanian Holocaust, the ARJVH seeks to bring the historic truths of the respective time to public attention, by promoting an open and constructive dialogue with the contemporary public.

Fragments from the volume:

SURVIVORS RESPOND

This volume features questions of the general public, sometimes sharp and polemic, answered by Holocaust survivors during meetings, seminars and other educational activities centered on the theme of the Romanian Holocaust.
